Understanding workers’ compensation: New Mexico WCA takes the confusion out of the process
ALBUQUERQUE — The New Mexico Workers’ Compensation Administration (WCA) is launching a new educational initiative led by Director Heather Jordan, to provide clear, concise, and informative resources about workers’ compensation to New Mexicans, including workers, employers, and health care providers.
WCA will host a series of free, statewide events to demystify the workers’ compensation process and equip attendees with essential resources on claims, coverage, and returning to work after an injury.
“Our goal is to empower workers and employers with the resources they need to navigate worker’s compensation with confidence,” said WCA Director Heather Jordan. “This is about providing clarity, not confusion.”
The free event series, “Fast Facts, Real Help: Understanding Workers’ Comp,” will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at the following locations and times:
- Albuquerque: 1:30 p.m. – WCA Main Office, 2410 Centre Ave. SE, Albuquerque, NM 87106
- Las Vegas: 1:30 p.m. – WCA Field Office, 32 NM 65, Las Vegas, NM 87701
- Santa Fe: 2:00 p.m. (RSVP required, please contact the WCA at (505) 476-7381) – 1596 Pacheco St., Ste. 202, Santa Fe, NM 87505
- Farmington: 1:30 p.m. – San Juan College, Merrion Room, School of Energy, 5301 College Blvd, Farmington, NM 87402
- Hobbs: 1:30 p.m. – New Mexico Junior College, LHWD 122B Training Room, 5317 Lovington Highway, Hobbs, NM 88240

These events are open to everyone, including workers, employers, health care providers, and anyone interested in learning more about the workers’ compensation process. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive expert guidance on how to handle claims, workplace injuries, and returning to work.
